Simple Kindness

Back in October I got a lovely email from a woman, Celeste, who had just discovered Simplywe.  She said she shared a love of heart rocks and wanted to send me a little something.  I shared my address with her and eagerly awaited my mail.  I love getting fun mail!…who doesn’t?! Shortly after I got a small package and was thrilled to see the most beautiful gifts.

The boys and I investigated and discussed these gorgeous shells for a long time.  My favorite is the orange one.

Apparently where Celeste and her family live there is a beach that is covered with sharks teeth.  They have jars of them!  The boys were thrilled we could add these to our “natural oddities” collection.

And finally, she added these beauties to my heart rock collection.  I love them so!

Do yourself a favor and go check out Celeste’s super cool, fun, and beautiful blog www.thewelchfamily.org you’ll be glad you did!  She home-schools and does fantastic things with her kids…like the other day they dissected sharks!  I want to go to that school!

November 2012

These are from November!  Some were shared on FB.  I apologize for the tardiness and for the double-share.

My heart bursts with joy knowing Keegan is finding his path.

He was home for a 2 week visit, before being sent to Germany.  We talk every other day, or so.  He seems happier than he’s ever been.

He hates smiling for photos, but I tickled him and he couldn’t hold his straight face.

I sent copies of this one out with our Christmas cards.  I’ve never done that before, but it’s such a great shot of all of us together.

No trip to Phoenix would be complete without Chicago Hamburger Company!  Sliders and cheese fries! YUM!

Jeremia is very proud of his big brother and looks super cute in his uniform.

We did some family bowing.

Jeremia showed us how to do Gangnam Style while holding bowling balls.

We played with my camera phone in between turns.

I wish it wasn’t so grainy.  I LOVE this shot.  Seriously the cutest photo bomber ever.

LOVE my family!

2012 in review

Again, WordPress.com has supplied me with a summation of my blogs activities for this past year, which I have shared with the link at the bottom.

Though I faltered, and have been less dedicated to posting regularly, I still love it here.  With all my heart.

With this new year I will be taking on big goals, head on.  I am scared.  Taking leaps terrifies me to my core, but that is all the more reason I need to do it. I have put this blog on the back burner and it will remain there.  It’s not to say that I don’t have a t0n of ideas for great blogs, because I do, I just lack the focus, followthrough and time that’s required to make them happen.  As it is I am posting photos months after they were taken, only because it took me that long to get around to blogging them, not because they aren’t important to me.

2013 will have blog posts, of that I am sure, but I have no idea how many or how few and far between.  I love each and everyone of you who has stuck around through the thick and the thin, whether constant or sporadic and I welcome all new readers with hope you will like what you see and come back often.  I cherish every comment, every subscription and every like, and am grateful for the ability to share glimpses of our lives, with the added bonus of having a digital scrapbook.

I wish you all health, wealth, happiness and love, this New Year, and always!

Here’s an excerpt:

4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 13,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 3 Film Festivals

Simple Drink Storage Solution

We are lucky enough to have enough room, in our kitchen, for 2 refrigerators.  One is our everything fridge and the other is our drink/overflow fridge.  If you have a large family and enough room in your kitchen, I highly recommend 2 fridges!

Before, whenever I tried to put cans or bottles in the door they would fall over and jerk around each time I opened the door.  And then I did this…

I saved the 4 and 6 pack carriers from beer and wine coolers.  We very rarely drink so it took me a while to get these 3.

Now the drinks all have their own cozy spots and I can stack them two high in the back, without having them fall every time I open the door.

Playing

Playing around with a black piece of construction paper that I punched a heart out of, and Instogram.

Owls are perfectly awesome!  The cuteness gushes off of them.

I want to do this again, with all sorts of stuff.  I just need to make time.

I have been CRAZY busy with being President of Booster Club at Ami and Conrad’s school.  With as much time as I’ve been spending at the school, I just have to say, I’m in love.  Today I got to help 1st graders make Gingerbread cookies, and taught them how to sew gingerbread dolls!  I know people think I’m crazy for wanting to become a teacher, but I just can’t help myself.  I’ve decided to get my Bachelors in elementary education.  It feels good to finally’ve made a decision.  I hope I don’t flake out.

Random Photos

One of Ami’s creations with the word board I made.  I hadn’t expected them to draw with the magnets, but am thrilled they do! They all do it, but Ami does it the most often. It makes me smile every time I walk past and see another creation.

I love that man!

Sandy and Donny are all grown  up.

This is from this summer.  We got to have lunch with one of our favorite people!  We love you, Burr!

Awesome $15  thrift store find!  It is heavy duty and they all rock it!

Even the biggest kid!

A rare moment of affection from this summer.  They are usually too busy bickering, to hug each other.  They were waiting for their Hip Hop class to start.  They love that class!

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

I have been super busy and have all sorts of ideas to keep me even busier.  Oi!

Love!!!

Poor Unfortunate Souls

Pillow Petz

They are pure dirt balls and do not belong in my bed, but they were too cute and pitiful to kick out.

Bug paid penance later…

Her’s so abused.

She was compliant, but bored.

Oh, but I do lover her
