Look at all those yummy peppers. I didn’t grow them, but I wish I did. I sautéed some with garlic and onion and threw them in the mix for chicken enchiladas. D.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s! I chopped and froze the rest for another day.
Fresh sweet basil growing in our back yard. I can’t wait!
Gary, out for a stroll while his pen was being cleaned.
Der cut up some bruised apples and put them in the feeder, much to this Gila Woodpecker’s delight. Or as Ami called her “peckwooder”…snort laugh. Whatever her name she is lovely and quite the acrobat.
I recently got a little over zealous buying cilantro and had to figure out what to do with it before it went bad. I decided to make flavor cubes.
I chopped up some onion and chives.
I added garlic. Fresh would have been better, but I was being lazy.
I added the cilantro then put in just enough water to make the blender work smoothly.
Poured the concoction into ice trays and froze. Don’t worry it only looks disgusting, but it’s yummy-ness in disguise.
After they were frozen I popped them out and put them in a big freezer bag.Now I can cook with “fresh” herbs even if I don’t feel like going to the store.
I also like to do this with yogurt and orange juice to make frozen smoothies.
Tomorrow: Fun at the scrap yard.
